Susan Deaton

Attorney

Susan Deaton is a graduate of Wright State University and the University of Dayton School of Law. She was admitted to the practice of law in 2018 and worked as a domestic relations attorney prior to joining Surdyk, Dowd & Turner in 2022. Susan now focuses her practice on defending public entities and their employees and commercial litigation under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act. Susan is admitted to practice in all Ohio state courts and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.

While in law school, Susan was an active member of many student organizations including the Volunteer Student Law Project and Women in Law & Leadership, and she served as Treasurer for the Black Law Students Association. Prior to law school, Susan attended Wright State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a focus in Mathematics and Sociology.
